Cygnus Gold Limited (ASX:CY5) is a Perth-based resource company focused on the exploration and discovery of gold deposits in the high-grade metamorphic terrane of southwest Western Australia. Cygnus holds over 3,500km2 of granted tenements and applications and is run by a world class technical team with expertise in target generation using leading edge technologies.
Cygnus Gold’s tenements include early stage exploration areas through to advanced drill-ready targets, where high-grade gold results were sporadically achieved in limited drilling by previous explorers. In addition to the 100% owned Projects, Cygnus is managing two significant earn-in agreements with Gold Road Resources, for the Lake Grace and Wadderin Projects. The Company is also managing exploration on the Yandina Project, in joint venture with Gold Road Resources.
In advance of an IPO in early 2018, Cygnus Gold needed to implement best practice data management from the beginning.
The Board wanted to benefit from outsourcing their IT infrastructure and staffing overheads while having the assurance their data is managed with the highest technical standards. This included implementing an ongoing solution that could be engaged on an ‘as needs’ basis.
Land access and permitting was important with over 3,500 landholder parcels and related landowners to negotiate with over CYG tenement holdings.
Cygnus wanted to establish good data collection practises in standardised templates to meet their business rules regardless of which work type or staff member was in the field capturing data.
As a result, Cygnus Gold Limited contracted Expedio to implement industry best practise data capture and management solutions in advance of their upcoming drilling program.
